Liberian Journalist Murdered

Tyron Brown, a local journalist working with Privately owned Super FM and TV Station in Monrovia has been gruesomely murdered in Paynesville outside Monrovia
He was discovered dead early Monday April 16, 2018 on the Duport Road. His family said he had served his church on the previous Sunday when he provided technical assistance up to his gruesome murder by unknown individuals.
His body was reportedly dropped off in community in which he lived by some men in a black jeep at about 3:00AM on April 16, 2018.
His belongings including cellphone, internet modem and money were found on his body.
The Press Union of Liberia has condemned the gruesome murder of a Brown a reporter and camera operator

PUL President Charles Cuffey said it was saddened that a Liberian Journalist would be killed in form and manner.

“Liberian Journalists are operating in an unfavorable environment, measures must be put in place to discourage such act” Coffey added.
The Center for Media Studies and Peacebuilding has also condemned the murder of Journalist Browne.

CEMESP’s Executive Director Malcolm Joseph has called on the Liberian National Police to speed up ongoing investigation to identify those behind the horrible murder of Journalist Tyron Brown.
Mr. Joseph said the fact that Journalist Browne’s mobile phone, internet modern and money were found on his body rules out the possibility of robbery.
